Slate Floor Restoration

We were contacted about a large slate tile floor that was in need of cleaning and restoration. Sadly, the natural slate had become a little bleak and dark. What’s more, the floor had also become quite tacky over time.

It is important to select the correct sealer for Slate floors

Upon closer inspection, we discovered that the wrong sealer had been used and that it had also been applied incorrectly, leading to both the lack of clarity and the tackiness.

The solution was to strip back the old sealer and apply a new, correct type of sealer.

As you can see from the images, the slate floor now looks great… light, reflective, colour depth and clean! With the correct sealer in place the correct maintenance going forward, it will remain looking like this for years to come.
